10 Dangers Lurking in the Corner of the Church (Part One)

It is highly recommended that you download the chart located below. It outlines the class and will help categorize the topics.

As mentioned in the introduction, while authors are identified by what they have written on these issues, the point of the class is to help the listener attune their own mind and ear to what is being written and said. To learn how to discern and apply the truth of scripture against various teachings.

1 Timothy 2:8-15 (Role of Women in Church Ministry)

I have also included the lecture notes from which today’s presentation was derived. It has typos, missing words, and more because it is not intended as a formal document. However, rather than provide a transcription that would need editing, this lecture notes PDF can be used to read along with the audio.

1 Timothy 2:6 (The Doctrine of the Atonement)

You will need to download the “Comparison Chart” located on the inneraltar.com website to follow along with the lecture. The whiteboard from the class is also available, as well as a two page article about the atonement.

Hebrews 6:7-20 (An Anchor for Your Soul)

In today’s class, during the portion talking about oaths, I made an error when asking if every President placed their hand on a bible during their inauguration. President Obama did indeed place his hand on a bible during both ceremonies, contrary to what was stated in the class. I apologize for the error. The fact is, he used President Lincoln’s bible during he ceremony: https://blogs.loc.gov/loc/2013/01/oath-of-office/

Once again, I prove my fallibility when straying from my notes!

Hebrews 6:4-6 (Can One Lose Their Salvation?)

If I have mischaracterized an author’s position or misrepresented the position of a particular denomination, I’d be happy to post a correction as a paragraph on this page. Send a comment to the assistant at my company, The Steve Laube Agency (www.stevelaube.com).

Philippians 2:12-18 (Work Out Your Own Salvation?)

I confess to making an error during this lecture. When speaking about Exodus 16 I did not consult my notes and spoke from memory. I got the chronology of events in Exodus, related to manna, incorrect. Let that be a less to y’all. Try not to “wing it” when in a room with people who are smarter than you! Which for me, is all the time. 🙂
